Activity 1.1-Environmental Science vs. Environmental Studies

  Introduction: Concerns about the environment are on the uprise as is shown throughout the news and media. Through global communication, we are able to see the devastating affects climate change will have on humanity both physically and socially. As is so, Environmental Science has also branched out to the human aspect of environmental awareness through Environmental Studies. Both Environmental Science and Environmental Studies deal with the concerned  changes our planet is going through, and how it will affect both our species and others. The two, just have different approaches and perspectives on the matter.  What I most look forward to in my Environmental Science class   I am a science enthusiast. It is something that I constantly instill in my daughters. I enjoy seeing the increase in STEM promotion and awareness for women and little girls. Up until this point, my schedule consisted of basic courses to meet the criteria of my degree plan with such subjects as math, writing, government, etc. Now, I am studying the classes that I have a heavy interest in. Although they may challenge me at times, I am thankful for the opportunity. Some of the things I look forward to in this Environmental Science class are: Learning about the order or outline of the environment and habitats  Learning policies, laws, and regulations that affect our lives and the environment Learning the process of research and data collecting  This should be a great experience with a wealth of useful knowledge to carry on the rest of my journey towards graduation and transferring to a university.
